Bcgeu Master Agreement 2018

The British Columbia Government and Service Employees` Union (BCGEU) has recently announced a new master agreement for 2018. This agreement, which covers over 26,000 unionized workers, is the result of months of negotiation between the union and the provincial government.

The BCGEU represents workers in various sectors, including health care, social services, education, and liquor distribution. This master agreement covers workers in all of these sectors, providing them with important protections and benefits.

One of the key components of the BCGEU master agreement is a wage increase for all workers. This increase is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and provides a cost-of-living adjustment for workers. In addition, many workers will receive a wage increase that is higher than the CPI adjustment, based on their job classification and level of experience.

The master agreement also includes improvements to benefits for workers. For example, some workers will see an increase in their extended health care and dental benefits. The agreement also includes improvements to sick leave and family leave provisions, giving workers greater flexibility to take time off when they need it.

In addition to these benefits, the BCGEU master agreement includes improvements to working conditions for many workers. For example, some workers will see an increase in their minimum hours of work per week, providing them with greater job security and stability. The agreement also includes language that improves health and safety conditions for workers.

The BCGEU master agreement is an important step forward for workers in many sectors in British Columbia. It provides them with important protections and benefits that will improve their quality of life both inside and outside of work. As a result, many workers are likely to feel more secure and valued in their jobs, which can have a positive impact on their overall well-being.
